About this product

Daiwa Whisker DF Carp Rod

Daiwa Whisker DF Carp Rod – This is the latest in a series of Daiwa rods to have been designed and field tested by none other than Korda’s Danny Fairbrass. A living legend in the carp fishing world and the man to whom many owe their carp fishing success, Danny was the only name on the list when Daiwa wanted to set about revamping their current Whisker rod series. Danny was more than willing to lend a hand and all of the rods in the DF series have been personally designed and tested in the UK.

There are four 12ft rods and one 13ft available in the range. Three of the 12ft rods, as well as the 13ft, are out and out carp fishing rods. The 12ft rods are available in a variety of test curves, starting from the lightest 2.75lb to the heaviest 3.5lb. The 13ft rod is available with a 3lb test curve only. There is also an additional 12ft spod rod, which can be used for dual spod and marker purposes thanks to its outstanding action. This spod rod offers a 4.25lb test curve, ensuring that you are able to punch out heavy spods as far as you can cast – enabling consistently accurate baiting.

All of the Whisker DF rods have been built to Danny’s custom specifications. This means that the blank design is not only finished in a classy silk matt black but it is also constructed using innovative carbon technology. The guides on the Whisker DF series are all TS lined, ensuring they are fantastically durable, and the butt guide is 50mm in diameter to ensure your line can soar through. These guides enable dream-like distance casting and although this rod has not been designed as a distance rod it can comfortable cope with all standard sized carp venues. With a slim shrink tube handle and DPS reel seat, this rod is a joy to use when playing a carp.
